Banker Inde Sumal Appointed To ICBC Board

SURREY – Veteran Indo-Canadian banker with the Royal Bank has been appointed to ICBC’s board of directors.

Inde Sumal, who is the Vice President responsible for Royal Bank’s Residential Mortgage Business in British Columbia, has more than 21 years experience in the financial services industry.

A former president o f the Surrey Board of Trade, Sumal’s commitment to community is demonstrated by his involvement in numerous initiatives.

Further to his role with ICBC, he is a board member for the Fraser Health Authority, the governing body responsible for 12 hospital facilities spanning Burnaby to the Fraser Valley. He also serves as the Authority’s board committee chair for Human Resources and Governance and is a member of their Finance and Audit Committee.

Sumal sits on Simon Fraser University’s Community Advisory Board and acts as a Governor with the Surrey Board of Trade. He has also served on the BC Chamber of Commerce Board, the Vancouver Board of Trade’s Early Childhood Development Committee and the United Way’s grant review board.

Sumal holds an MBA from Royal Roads University in Victoria.
