SURREY – Basant Motors has awarded $32,000 in scholarships to top school children on the occasion of its 30th anniversary.
During a function held in the yard of Basant Motors, President Baldev Singh Bath welcomed the guests and the children receiving scholarships for higher education. Giving information about the work started for social service, he said that these talented children are selected by a committee of educational experts.
He said that by giving scholarships to these gifted children for higher education, they consider themselves fortunate and wish a bright future for a better and progressive society. He especially thanked the Surrey residents and the community for their support in continuing this work started by Basant Motors.
Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum and councilors and otherspresented scholarships to 16 students from different schools selected for the scholarship.
