BATHINDA – Sangrur AAP MP Bhagwant Mann, referring to the pesticide scam, alleged that the government was responsible for a large number of farmer suicides. “Sisters have lost their brothers, mothers have lost their sons in the farming sector.

Most of them committed suicide following the whitefly attack that destroyed the entire cotton crop in the region only because they were supplied spurious pesticides.”

While addressing a gathering at Singho village in Bathinda, he alleged that the ruling Badals wanted to kill him with the help of their associates and the Nabha jailbreak was part of this conspiracy. He alleged that the government wanted to disturb the peaceful environment of Punjab and create lawlessness to garner votes.

Bhagwant had earlier alleged that the Nabha jailbreak was staged by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal in order to eliminate him and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal in view of the forthcoming assembly elections in Punjab.

In the morning, Bhagwant Mann campaigned in Sangat village of Bathinda rural constituency and later, he addressed the masses in Singho village of Talwandi Sabo constituency. Late in the evening, he addressed the rally in Bathinda city to campaign for party candidate Deepak Bansal.
