BHOPAL – Fans of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan in Bhopal created a portrait of the actor, using blood, to express their demand that he be awarded Bharat Ratna.
Dr Mahesh Yadav, an Ayurvedic doctor, created a portrait of the actor by using human blood. The doctor had also created a portrait of President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, by using his blood.
Amitabh portraitDr Yadav said that the megastar’s fans contributed their blood to make the portrait. He said that his aim was to send out a message to the President, to felicitate Bachchan with Bharat Ratna for his contribution to the film industry.
The demand of Bharat Ratna for Amitabh Bachchan started when Lata Mangeshkar announced that Big B should get the award. “Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan should be awarded the Bharat Ratna,” she said at the packed Shanmukhananda auditorium after receiving her first-ever Hridaynath Award from the actor.
Later Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham also joined the campaign.
