Big Indo-British Political Donor In CBI’s Blacklist

LONDON – The LiberalDemocrats, a partner inBritain’s ruling coalition,finds itself in a controversyafter it has emerged that oneof its donors is an internationalarms dealer who figuresin a blacklist of “undesirables”drawn up by India’sCentral Bureau ofInvestigation (CBI).Sudhir Choudhrie, who hasdonated more than 500,000pounds (over $837,000) to theLib-Dems via his family companysince 2010, was named byCBI as one of 23 “unscrupulouspersons” in 2012, theGuardian reported. The Lib-Dems, however, accepted donationsfrom Choudhrie as recentlyas November 2013.
