SURREY – The LINK has learned from close sources that the ex-boyfriend of budding Indo-Canadian actress-model Maple Batalia and another man have been charged with murder, who was shot to death in the Simon Fraser University Surrey campus parkade after a late-night study session on Sept. 28, 2011.The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team picked up two men from Surrey on Friday and sources tell the LINK that one of them is her ex-boyfriend. Both men have been taken into custody in the murder last year of Surrey SFU student Maple Batalia.
IHIT spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Pound said two suspects were just taken into custody and a press conference is planned for Saturday evening to give further details.
IHIT Supt. Kevin Hackett, several other investigators, Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts and Batalia’s family are expected to attend.
