3 On 3 Basketball

Team Izzat – a non-profit organization founded by Surrey RCMP Sergeant Jet Sunner, will be hosting their 11th annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament to be held at Seaquam Secondary school, located at 11584 Lyon Rd in Delta on Saturday April 11th.  This tournament is free to participate and we also provide free T-shirts and pizza to all the participants. The age groups are from Grades 7-12 for boys and grades 7-10 for girls.  The deadline to enter is April 5th , please contact Jet Sunner at [email protected] or go to teamizzat.com for more info.

Earth Day Pilgrimage

Burns Bog Conservation Society, for decades, have been promoting and cultivating environment awareness in community. This year, similar to last several years, on April 26 to celebrate Earth Day  the Society  has planned “Pilgrimage Walk”  in Burns Bog, Delta Nature Reserve,10388, Nordel Court. Pilgrimage will begin at 1.35 PM . IT IS GOING TO BE A CROSS CULTURAL-FAMILY EVENT.  Everyone is urge to support the environmental cause. Income Tax Clinic

Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society is proud to announce that they will be establishing PICS Income Tax Clinic this year from the last week of February 2015 to April 2015 in partnership with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinic Program of Canada Revenue Agency. This program will engage PICS volunteers who have been trained by Canada Revenue Agency to help community members who have low incomes to electronically file their income tax returns. To be eligible to avail this free service:

•           Your income must be as follows:

o          Single Person: $30,000 or less

o          Single parent with child: $35,000 or less

o          Each additional child: $ 2,500

o          Couples: $40,000 or less

o          Investment income under: $ 1,000

•           You have a simple tax return (no self-employment, no bankruptcy, no forms for deceased, no capital gains/losses and no rental income).

•           You must attend in person.

Bus Trip To Squamish Sea to Sky Gondola &

Squamish Shannon Falls on April 11th 2015 at 9.00 am from Temple.

Vedic Seniors Parivar Centre of Vedic Hindu Cultural Society Surrey is organizing a day bus trip for the Parivar members to visit Squamish Sea to Sky Gondola on April 11th 2015. The 52 Senior Parivar Members those who have registered for the trip are required to reach Lakshmi Narayan Hindu Temple at 9.00 am and the bus will leave at 9.30 am Sharp. After enjoying the Natural beauty all around on top of the mountain the members will enjoy special Indian Buffet lunch at Bisla Sweets & Restaurant Squamish and will visit Squamish’s famous Shannon Falls and before returning, members will pay respect at Baba Guru Nanak Sahib Gurudwara Squamish. The bus will leave at 6.30 pm from Gurudwara for the return journey to Lakshmi Narayan Hindu Temple 8321 – 140th Street Surrey BC. Vedic Seniors Parivar Centre of Vedic Hindu Cultural Society Surrey informs South Asian Seniors that during the Tax filing period we can help you to file your Income Tax Returns for the year 2014 free of cost, through the community volunteer program of Canada Revenue Agency, from March 9th 2015 to April 20 th 2015. If you are living in Surrey / Delta. The eligibility Criteria are as follows 1.Single indiviual with annual income limit up to $ 30,000. 2. Couples with annual income up to $ 40,000. 3. Adult with one child annual income up to $ 35,000, add the income limit by $ 2,500 for each dependent child. Interest income not over $ 1,000.00 and this income will be included as total eligibility. With no investment income, no rental income and no partnership income, sin# card and photo identity will be required to prove the documents.
