Free Eye Health Clinic At Dashmesh Darbar Gurudwara In Surrey

Canadian Eyesight Global sponsored by Rotary Club of Surrey-Guildford and  Rotary Club of Burnaby is organizing a Free Eye Health Clinic on Sunday September 25 from 1:00-4;00pm, at the Dashmesh Darbar Gurudwara, Surrey.

A team of an eminent eye surgeon Dr. David R.S. Neima, MD, FRCS(C).Ophthal., V.P,. Overseas Programs, Canadian Eyesight Global and associate will participate.

Free Eye Health Screening  program  by Canadian Eyesight Global is first of its kind in British Columbia, since 2004. The needy patients with major eye prolems are referred to the eye specialts for further investigation and treatment.

Kanval Launch

The South Asian Literary Society of Canada is going to launch “KANVAL”(Lotus), a collection of Ghazals and Nazm of late sri Narayandas Puri (Grandfather) of R.C. Puri of Surrey on September 24,2016 at STUDIO 7,Sukh Bath Motors in Surrey. This event has been sponsored by Hindi Literary Society of Canada and Urdu Association.

The program will be from 1.00 to 4.30 PM. The book will be reviewed by scholars and followed by Kavi Darbar/Mushaira. It is free and open to all poetry lovers.

PICS offers Self Employment Programs

PICS offers Self Employment programs where participants get support to translate their business ideas into successful operating businesses. 10 weeks of workshops are followed by support by an assigned Business Consultant during the launch period. Qualifying participants receive the training free of charge. (Funding provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada-British Columbia Job Fund.)

The program is open both to clients collecting Employment Insurance (EI) and those who are not eligible for EI. Qualifying criteria for the program for non-EI clients: 1. Immigrant or 2.Youth (15-29) or 3.Aboriginal or 4.Person with mental or physical barrier or disability.

Surrey Youth Fest

On Saturday, September 17, young people ages 13 to 18 are invited to Surrey Youth Fest—the City’s largest annual celebration for youth—from 1pm to 11pm at Guildford Recreation Centre (15105 105 Avenue).

The 12th annual celebration—which includes a festival from 1pm to 7pm and an after party with DJ Deth Klown from 8pm to 11pm—is a free event featuring a variety of activities and entertainment including: local youth bands and performers; carnival games; dance battles; skateboard, scooter and BMX jams; rock wall climbing; food trucks; mini workshops; a photo booth; henna and airbrush tattoos; the ‘cardboard wolf art project’; and chances to win prizes.

PICS offers IELTS classes

PICS is offering general and academic preparation classes for IELTS in Surrey starting July. The classes run for six weeks, Monday to Thursday from 4pm to 6pm.

IELTS general training test results can satisfy the requirements of the Immigrant, Refugees, Citizenship Canada (IRCC) if you apply for citizenship. The academic training test result is required for registration in some education courses.
