Guru Nanak Kitchen’s Cup Cake Event

On November 8th, in honour and celebration of Guru Nanak’s birthday, Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen (aka GNFK) humbly introduces its Annual Cup Cake event.  People of all faiths and backgrounds are invited to bring their families and friends to Sukh Sagar Gurdwara, 347 Wood Street, New Westminster from 3 pm to 6 pm to bake, decorate and pack hundreds of cup cakes and cookies for over 20 Lower Mainland shelters.

GNFK is a volunteer based organisation that is not affiliated to any religious, political or governmental body – it serves all communities from community donations.

Poetry Night in Punjabi

Tuesday, November 18, 6:30 – 8 pm

George Mackie Library in collaboration with Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Uttari Amrika and Punjabi Lekhak Manch – Vancouver offers poetry night in Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi.  Come hear two published poets/authors read and discuss their work and answer questions from the audience.

PICS Launches KIDS CLUB

Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society announced the launch of its new program: PICS Kids Club. PICS Kids Club is for students in grade k-12 who need a little extra help with their school work and studies. The tutoring sessions are $20/hour and they run every Wednesday between 3:30pm to 5:30pm at PICS Society head office, 205-12725 80th Ave, Surrey, BC. PR Cards And Citizenship Sponsoring!

Richmond Public Library and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. are partnering to offer a free program called “PR Cards & Citizenship Sponsoring” on Thursday, November 6th from 1 – 2:30 pm at Cambie Branch library, located at 11590 Cambie Rd. Settlement practitioner Gurpreet Faridkot will give tips on how to renew permanent resident status as well as rules and regulations for sponsoring new immigrants to Canada.
