U14 Canadian Rocks win their 9th straight. This time it was “The United Annual Soccer Tournament” in Abbotsford.

ABBOTSFORD – Canadian Rocks U14 soccer team ended their season in the same manner they started.  Last weekend at the Abbotsford United Annual Soccer Tournament they again won thus making it their 9th straight tournament win.  This time however victory did not come easy as they were challenged to the limit on their road to the finals.  In their final match not only did they need a victory but also a shutout and a minimum of 2 goals in order to advance.  They led 1-0 midway in the second half and even the shutout was in near jeopardy a few times.  However, they came through and scored their needed goal towards the end of the game to win it 2-0.  The final game proved to be just as exciting and the score was the same as well 2-0.  Both goals were scored by sensational striker Eduardo Machuca who is playing one year up.

The Canadian Rocks team is coached by Gary Virk and Pablo.  This is a hard working team that went to the Provincial finals last year and were in the Confederation Cup Finals this year.  The next tournament for the boys will be at the end of the month in Bellingham when they compete in the Puma Pacific Coast Challenge.
