Rashpal Singh Kalsi has taken his new passion for biking to a great cause of fighting cancer as he joined the recent  Ride to Conquer Cancer along with 2401 riders, which raised $9.1 million for the BC Cancer Foundation. While there are many sceptics who feel that the cancer monies raised in hundreds of millions if not billions around the globe go into a great gaping black hole without any breakthrough cures and a cancer drug industry worth billions has a cure but isn’t interested in it as it would means billions of dollars lost , but Kalsi doesn’t buy those conspiracy theories and says his purpose is simple – his mother who passed away from lung cancer a few years ago. “I’m doing it for my mother whom I adored,” said Kalsi, who was one of only two turbaned Sikhs as part of the Riders groups in BC. “When she was diagnose she only lived seven months and when I began cycling again after 36 years, I wanted to honour her by being part of the Ride.” If you would like to get involved or donate, contact Rashpal Kalsi at 778-317-7451or email – [email protected].
