A grand Reception was organized for Rajani Alexander, Canada’s Consul General in Chandigarh at Richmond’s Delta Airport Hotel, which was hosted by Barj Dhahan and others! Articulate and knowledgeable, Rajani had a long conversation with the gathered crowd, giving all the trade lowdown and announcing some new products like Business Visa! Among many notable people in attendance included Surrey accountant Gurminder Singh Parhar and businessman Bobby Nagra.
New Consul!
India’s Vancouver Consulate office has a new Consul in Amar Jit Singh, who arrives from Herat (Afghanistan), where he was India’s Consul General. Fluent in Gujarati, having lived in Vadodara, Gujarat in his formative years, Singh’s official role will be Consular, Passport, Visa and Community Affairs.
Partnership Walk
Although it was a wet and cold day, but participants at the World Partnership Walk, Canada’s largest annual event dedicated to raising funds and increasing awareness to fight global poverty, were out in full force. The Walk is organized by volunteers in ten cities across Canada, and attracts tens of thousands of Canadians united in a common effort to bring hope and renewal to some of the poorest communities in the world.
