LAS VEGAS – Indo-Canadian Chess Champ Tanraj Sohal won the prestigious 21st Annual North American Open Chess Championship (Under 2300 Section) held at Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on December 26-29.
North American Open is an annual chess tournament which attracts top players from all over the world predominantly from the USA to Las Vegas for the prize money.
Sohal, who has won numerous Canadian chess championships over the years, finished first in his elite rating section (Under 2300 Section just next to the Open Section) of 94 players which included title players. He was undefeated with a score of 6 out of 7.
