Join in celebrating Christmas at Canada Place presented by the Port of Vancouver! This year, from December 2 until January 2, the public is invited to celebrate the season and experience this popular annual holiday tradition, featuring the nostalgic tradition of the Woodward’s Windows, a spectacular holiday lighting display presented by Best Buy, the iconic Sails of Light, and the festive Avenue of Trees.
 
Guests can look to the skies for an exciting new addition, Bright Skies powered by Best Buy. This incredible drone show will tell a holiday story with the drones forming holiday-inspired images and messages. The shows will take place on December 2 and 3 at 6:00pm.

Canada’s Great Bright North, powered by Best Buy
Enjoy a magical holiday experience at the North Point of Canada Place, Canada’s Great Bright North light display presented by Best Buy. The display features wintery light displays and a 15-foot illuminated moose figure named “Chrismoose” to properly capture the Canadian holiday spirit.
 
Woodward’s Windows
Walk along the west promenade of Canada Place to enjoy this treasured part of Vancouver’s history. Originally displayed in the popular Woodward’s department store, the Woodward’s Windows feature classic holiday scenes with animatronic characters and elaborate decor.
 
Avenue of Trees
The Canadian Trail along the outdoor promenade at Canada Place will be transformed into a holiday wonderland. Guests can stroll the outdoor promenade enjoying beautifully decorated Christmas trees and lights, sponsored by community-minded organizations.
 
Sails of Light at Canada Place
The night sky will be illuminated by the Sails of Light at Canada Place when the iconic white sails come alive with Christmas-inspired colours starting at dusk every evening.
 
Christmas at Canada Place is open to the public December 2 to January 2, 8am to 11pm every day.

Surrey to host annual Surrey Tree Lighting Festival & Holiday Market celebration at Civic Plaza this Saturday
 
This free community event–presented by Concord Pacific–will feature live entertainment on four stages, a Holiday Market, photos with Santa, Enchanted Eats on University Drive and the 60-foot tree lighting ceremony.

Additional highlights include over 20 local Surrey performers, choirs, holiday groups and children’s acts, light displays, photo opportunities, and family activities. The Reimagined Lumière Festival Returns to Vancouver 
The re-envisioned Lumière Festival returns to Vancouver this week, the festival runs from November 17-27, 2022, with an expanded footprint across Downtown Vancouver to shine a light on local artists and brighten the city. Under this year’s festival theme, Dream the Future, the elements of light, art and storytelling weave together to redefine winter as a season of inspiration and connection.
Follow Lumière through Downtown Vancouver, West End, Yaletown and Gastown, and discover 55+ artists and performers, illuminated Dream beacons, pop-up performances, workshops and demonstrations, as well as neighborhood parades throughout the course of the festival. Each night, at a new location, festival Dreamers will come together and celebrate with light, music, art and dance; no two nights will be the same during this free family-friendly celebration. 
Kicking off the Lumière Festival is an open air spectacle at šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square (formerly: Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza) on the evening of Thursday, November 17, 2022, and wrapping up in iconic Morton Park on November 26, 2022, is another outdoor stage showcasing artists, light and performances.
Featured artists include two-time Western Canadian Music Award winning soul, jazz and R&B singer Krystle Dos Santos, explosive, high-energy dance band Queer As Funk and Vancouver event band Trilojay. Visual artists include Zachery Cameron Longboy, Lee Rosenbaum, and Jed Mangahis. Dancers from Harbour Dance, Mozaico Flamenco and many more of Vancouver’s best will be Dreaming along with us at Lumière.
