Damdami Taksal Seeks Centre’s Apology For Operation Bluestar

AMRITSAR – The Damdami Taksal on Monday sought an apology from the Union government for the attack on Golden Temple during Operation Bluestar.

Observing the 32nd anniversary of the operation at Chowk Mehta, headquarters of the seminary, the Taksal wanted the government to bring a resolution in Parliament seeking apology from the Sikhs for the 1984 episode.

Taksal head Harnam Singh Dhumma said the Union government should return an arrow and a sword of slain militant leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

The Taksal also passed a resolution demanding return of documents taken away from Golden Temple’s Sikh reference library after the operation.

Bhindranwale’s son, Isher Singh, was also honoured on the occasion.
