SUVA – Nilesh Sharma was depressed after losing his job as an accountant at a company following a road accident late last year.

However, he had started working from home two weeks prior to his death but he always complained about severe headache.

But what resulted in his death and that of his wife, Pritika, 32, and their two children Divesh Sharma, 5, and Divya Sharma, 3, has baffled his relatives.

Sharma, 34, his wife and two children were found dead inside their Glen Waverley suburb home in Melbourne, Australia, on Tuesday morning.

Australian police are investigating possible links between the family’s death and a road accident they were involved in on December 29 last year.

The Age reported that police were called to the family’s home for a welfare check on Tuesday morning when Divya was not taken to family day care centre for the second day running.

Speaking to The Fiji Times from Melbourne yesterday, Sharma’s uncle, Simon Charan, said Australian police were treating the deaths as murder-suicide and not disclosing much.

“When police went inside their home, they told all relatives to stay outside,” he said.

“The family was very good but Nilesh was very much depressed after losing his job following the accident.

“He went back to work two weeks ago and was working from home but he always complained of severe headache as he had suffered head injuries in the accident.”

Charan ruled out the question of the family facing financial problems because Sharma’s wife also worked as an accountant at a hospital in Melbourne.

He said Sharma’s mother, a brother and two sisters are living in Australia while another brother was in the US.
