LUDHIANA – The author of the ‘Encyclopaedia of Sikhism’ and Producer–Director of the Multimedia Sikh Museums Dr. Raghbir Singh Bains was honoured with ‘Giani Ditt Singh Memorial Award’ at Ludhian by the ‘Professor Mohan Singh Memorial Foundation’ for his volunteer services provided to the global society.
The award was presented by the former Vice Chancellor Dr Sardara Singh Johal, President Pargat Singh Grewal, Krishan Kumar Bawa and Nirmal Jaura.
Dr Bains is a lifetime volunteer. He is an eminent community activist, dedicated philanthropist, an eminent drug therapist and a lifetime crusader against the global menace of drugs, flesh trading, sexual assaults, domestic violence, foeticide, AIDS and other social evils.
In a press statement Dr Bains said that the award had put up more responsibility on his shoulders to give back to the community in a richer way.
