Like every year, spring season for graduation parties has set in again. Graduation is a milestone where every graduating teen is given credit for achieving an educational and academic certification. Otherwise also it is an exciting time for those who are graduating from school after twelve years of their learning and hard work.

Although graduation party is a special ceremony and it needs to be celebrated with honest grace and great fervor but many untoward things happen during such parties.

It is common knowledge that the graduation parties are arranged to celebrate achievements in various fields after completing high schooling by the students. It is worth to mention here that graduation parties are held for fun, entertainment, prizes and acknowledgement for the years of hard work. It is a good gesture to say ‘thank you’.

However it should be ensured that these grad parties are celebrated without alcohol or drugs otherwise such parties may result in drug addiction, fights, brawls or violence giving birth to serious injuries, murders, rapes, legal issues faced for drinking underage and driving under the influence of drugs.

It is also understandable that the graduation parties will be a fun time for youngsters who have passion, energy and craze to enter the glamorous life but they are still modest in prudence. Many of the previous records of such parties are blotted ones. Unexpected and unseen things had happened in the past and can happen again in such parties for which protection and self safety should always be a high priority in such gatherings.

It is duty of the parents to keep their eyes and ears wide open to stop any untoward happenings in graduation parties. They must create awareness amongst their graduating wards to understand that such celebrations as usual may be coupled with high chances of risk for indulging in consumption of alcohol or other drugs which are already a great menace in society.

It is reiterated that indulging of youngsters in drinking alcohol and using drugs in grad parties leads an individual to lose sight of safety, security and self protection. Thus the graduating adolescents are likely to make risky decisions under peer pressure to drink and even drive which may put them and their dears at risk. They must be aware of the mischief maker class mates while eating or having soft drinks.

Parents and school officials must understand that ‘High School Graduation’ is an important milestone in life of a student. They must understand that having a fun and memorable night doesn’t include alcohol or drugs, bullying or threats. They need to ensure that uninvited guests are not allowed to crash the party.

Youth are our precious treasure. Our tomorrow is in their hands. Let’s ensure to train them as truthful human beings so that peace and prosperity prevails in the world.
