AMRITSAR – On the information provided by smugglers who were nabbed by BSF jawans from Mian Wali Uttar border post in Khemkaran sector yesterday, the BSF recovered four packets of heroin from the same border post.
The packets contain 4 kg of heroin worth Rs 20 crore.
The BSF had yesterday arrested seven persons involved in the smuggling of heroin. These included Budh Singh, his son Sarwan Singh, Harpal Singh, Karaj Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Dharamveer Singh, all residents of Mehandipur village, and Saraj Singh, Budh Singh’s son-in-law.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kamaljit Singh Dhilon said following their interrogation, the police in collaboration with the BSF authorities recovered 4 kg of heroin. A case under Section 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act had been registered against them at the Khemkaran police station in this connection, he added.
