Around 400 students, teachers, parents, community activists and role models from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds attended the Vaisakhi event celebrated in Queensborough School New Westminster, BC. The whole school was vigorously beautified. The students were in joyful mood and Vaisakhi related activities. It was great to see the students greeting guests with ‘Happy Vaisakhi’ mottos in hands at the main entrance gate of the school. The students did a marvelous job in explaining the significance of Vaisakhi and inauguration of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699. The presentations relating to socio-cultural aspects of the Vaisakhi were beautifully performed by the mixed groups of students.  A message of the Prime Minister of Canada on importance of Vaisakhi was also read by the students. To highlight the religio-global perspective of Vaisakhi, Dr Raghbir Singh Bains provided valuable information to the mixed gathering on multiculturalism and harmonious living by raising awareness on universal brotherhood, wellbeing of entire human race, peace and global prosperity as envisioned by the Sikh Gurus. He motivated students to stay away from drugs and other social evils like female foeticide, rapes and gangs to become good citizens. Punjabi teacher Deep Singh Sangra and Principal Debbie Jones thanked the congregation.
