Along with looking at history of Sikhs in North America, it will look at the legacy of Teja Singh, who made great contributions to the Sikh community. A book titled Life of a Gurmukh – dedicated to Teja Singh’s life – will also be released on July 9 function!
The Conference will focus on the magnitude of the contributions made by Teja Singh to Asian Community, in particular to Sikhs.
“The history of Sikhs of North America may reveal new possibilities and perspectives in the multicultural understanding of Sikhs’ existential situation.
Coupled with the historic accounts of their struggles and achievements over the years, the speakers would touch upon the importance of lessons learnt and the new challenges emerging in the context of the present times. This should be of great significance particularly when Sikhs are emerging as an influential community of Canada both politically and culturally.”
