To promote the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative of the Government of India, the Consulate General of India, Vancouver organized an event on March 31, 2023. Consul General Mr. Manish made a detailed presentation and outlined the significance of the One District One Product initiative by the Government of India.

During his remarks, he referred to “One District One Product” (ODOP) as a transformational step towards achieving a district’s true potential by converting each district of the country into a manufacturing and export hub, fueling economic growth, generating jobs, encouraging rural entrepreneurship, and leading us to the objective of Self-reliant India. He also talked extensively about the opportunities for investment and the import of ODOP goods into Canada.

During the event, three ODOP aggregators/exporters from India joined virtually namely – Mr. Akshay Wadhwa, CEO, and Founder, of Bluerickshaw, Ms. Pallavi Keshri, Founder, of Eyaas and Ms. Sona Puri, Director, and Co-Founder, India Craft House explained more about the initiative and explained in detail how they can help businesses in Canada with ODOP gifting Solutions.

Over 50 products from various Districts of India were displayed during the event including – Walnut woodcraft from Anantnag, Kashmir; Bijnor woodcraft from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh; Amroha musical instruments from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh; Bidriware from Bidar, Karnataka; Pashmina Shawl from Leh, Ladakh; Gems and Jewellery from Surat, Gujarat; Brass Artifacts from Jangaon, Telangana; Pattachitra Painting from Puri, Odisha.
