NEW YORK – Business magazineForbes named Madonna the highest-paidmusician in the world on Tuesday, estimatingher earnings at $125 million inthe year to June.Revenues from her MDNA concerttour plus sales of Madonna-relatedproducts and merchandise put theMaterial Girl, 55, well ahead of LadyGaga at $80 million.The Mother Monster’s incomewould have been higher had a hipinjury not forced her to abandon aglobal concert tour, Forbes said.Veteran rocker Bon Joviplaced third at $79 million, followedby country star TobyKeith ($65 million) and Britishband Coldplay ($64 million).Forbes based its list, postedon forbes.com, on pretaxincome from ticket sales,royalties, merchandising,endorsements andother ventures.It doesn’t take into accountfees for agents, managers andlawyers.Only living artists can makethe list – otherwise, Forbes said,Michael Jackson would havebeen number one with a posthumousincome of $160 million.
