Rajvir Kaur Rai and her one-year-old son were last seen at her Abbotsford home at approximately 4:00 a.m. PT Monday morning but the two were found safe and sound Monday evening. Police did not say where they were found or why she had left the home without informing members of her extended household.
ABBOTSFORD – The Abbotsford Police Department announced that they’ve safely located a 31-year-old Indo-Canadian woman and her 1-year-old son.
Rajvir Kaur Rai was last seen at her home at approximately 4:00 a.m. PT Monday morning.
Her family noticed around noon she and her son were gone.
Family members said Rai’s departure was out of character.
“It’s concerning to the family, they felt that she would have had a conversation with them,” said Const. Ian Macdonald, who added that an Amber Alert wasn’t issued because there was no evidence of an abduction.
“We just believe at the end of the day, for a family that would be used to seeing the mother and child inside the multi-generational home, it’s a bit of a departure for both not be present.”
Police did not say where they were found or why she had left the home without informing members of her extended household.
The two were found on the evening of September 5.
