Mission Councillor Ken Herar recently visited Ottawa and had the opportunity to catch up with Prime Minister Trudeau during a Laurier Club Event. Herar said, “Trudeau greeted me as Kenneth, which I haven’t heard in years.”
“It was a productive conversation and I had the opportunity to discuss the diversity in Mission, as we spoke extensively on the importance of inclusion for all and in particular the LGBTQIA2S+ community and Pride Month. I also invited him to attend Fraser Valley Pride celebrations here in Mission, this month,” Herar said.
Herar was the lone councillor to support flying the pride flag at city hall.
