SURREY – It was no April fool’s day on the 1st of the month as another shooting rocked Surrey, making it an even dozen over the last few weeks.

At approximately 11:40 am, Surrey RCMP received several reports of shots being fired from a vehicle near the intersection of 128th Street and 64th Avenue.

Witnesses reported observing a male passenger firing from a silver vehicle, towards an occupied black Honda. Both vehicles were reportedly going southbound at the time and fled from the scene.

A description of the suspect vehicles was immediately broadcasted throughout Lower Mainland and officers continue to patrol for the vehicles and individuals involved. It is unknown at this time if there were any injuries to any of the passengers in the two vehicles.

Officers are currently on scene speaking with witnesses as well as recovering physical evidence. The investigation, led by Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit, continues.

Both vehicles were heading southbound on 128th Street at the time and fled the scene afterward, according to police.

Officials aren’t sure whether any passengers in either of the two vehicles were struck by gunfire.

It’s the latest reported drive-by shooting in the city.

Last week, two men in their mid-20s were shot in a targeted incident and drove themselves to hospital, refusing to cooperate with police.

Earlier this month, a string of four shootings that left two people hospitalized had Mounties hunting for multiple gunmen.
