BATHINDA – The newly elected Sangur MP, Aam Aadmi Party’s Bhagwant Mann, has released a song taking a dig at those Punjabi singers who had sung songs eulogising the SAD-BJP government.

With his tongue firmly in cheek, the stand-up comedian-turned politician, Mann has targeted popular singers such as Jazzy B, Harbhajan Mann and Diljit Dosanjh for singing paeans of praise of the alliance and the Badals.

At the beginning of the song, Mann expresses his displeasure with the artistes. The MP says that he worked hard to awaken voters against the “wrong policies” of the government, while other singers forgot their social responsibility towards their audience and went ahead in praising the state government.

Targeting Jazzy B, Mann wondered which category of Jats he was talking about when he sang ‘Jat maujan karda ae’. Jats in the state are reeling under poverty, but the singer is unaware of their plight, Mann says in the song.

Another popular singer, Harbhajan Mann, also came under fire for his song “Gallan goriyaan de vich toye”. In his song, the MP questions the singer why he can’t see the potholed roads across the state if he can see the dimples on the cheeks of his beloved. Harbhajan had also sung the song, “Kade kade rabb paida karda Badal jehe insaan”.

The Sangrur MP wondered why Diljit Dosanjh, who claims to be a fan of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in “Main fan Bhagat Singh da”, was afraid of the Badal family and sang praises of them.
