Over $61,000 Illicit Cash Nabbed!

A Surrey driver regrets that he was speeding on January 29 as that is when he was caught by a member of the Southeast District Traffic Section. After further investigation, police seized $61,140.00 cash from the man as he was traveling on highway five near Darfield, BC, an area located on highway five, between Barriere and Clearwater, approximately 75 km north of Kamloops. It was while dealing with the driver that the officer noted several indicators that caused him to enter into an investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. The driver was detained and a police service dog was deployed. Further evidence obtained led to the arrest of the 35 year old driver from Surrey. The unidentified man will appear in Kamloops Court April 11 on charges of Possession of Property obtained by Crime.
