Teen Accused Of Drunk Driving In Brampton Crash That Killed Indo-Canadian Youth

BRAMPTON – Police have charged a teenager with impaired driving after a deadly crash that took the life of an Indo-Canadian youth after the car he was in collided with a transport truck in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police say that a Toyota Corolla was struck by a tractor-trailer at Airport Road and Lacoste Boulevard in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Kam Gill, 18, was killed in the crash and another passenger, a woman in her late teens, had serious injuries and has been stabilized.

Police can’t release the driver’s name because of his age, but say he is accused of impaired operation causing death, impaired operation causing bodily harm and excess alcohol causing death.

Two other teens had minor injuries in the crash.

The 17-year-old driver faces charges of impaired operation cause death, impaired operation cause bodily harm, excess alcohol cause death and excess alcohol cause bodily harm.

The crash remains under investigation. Police want to talk to anyone who saw the vehicles before the collision occurred, or those who witnessed the collision directly.
