VANCOUVER – While Christy Clark and her merry gang of BC Liberals were celebrating big money turnout at a party fundraiser Wednesday night – the polls had her dipping even further into political hell her standing now as the second least popular provincial Premier in Canada

The latest poll numbers show Clark’s popularity continues to slide, while her opponent’s is on the rise.

According to the Angus Reid survey, Clark is the second least popular premier in the country, with an approval rating of just 30 per cent.

That’s 3 points lower than her rating in March, and a full 10 points lower than six months ago in December.

The only premier in Canada with a worse rating is Nova Scotia NDP’s Darrell Dexter.

Meanwhile, the BC NDP’s Adrian Dix is the second most popular opposition leader in the country.

His approval rating is up to 53 per cent. That’s 6 points higher than it was in March.

Overall, the survey, which polled 6,599 Canadian adults, indicated that three of the four best-rated Canadian premiers are located in Western Canada, with Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall taking the lead with 67 per cent. Darrel Dexter of Nova Scotia occupied the last spot with only 27 per cent of respondents’ support.

Just last month another poll had demonstrated that half of B.C. voters were planning on casting their ballots for the NDP in the next provincial election.
