Protest At Indian Consulate!

The East Indian Defence Committee held their annual protest outside the Indian Consulate in downtown Vancouver to mark India’s flag hoisting ceremony inside the consulate. The EIDC held their protest despite some of their members being blacklisted and facing visa hassles to protest the lack of democracy in India and the rampant corruption that has given the country a black mark on the international stage while creating anti-corruption icon in Anna Hazare who has brought the Congress-led government to it’s knees. “When it comes to accountability of the elected leaders to the people, what would be a worst example than having a large number of convicted criminals in the parliament running the government,” the EIDC writes in it’s press release-cum-manifesto.
