Dear Editor:

Punjab is going through bad times again. Two innocent lives have been lost while hundreds of people injured and arrested. Over the years we always blame Punjab police for its brutality and innocent killings. But if we look at the record over the years, it is always the ruling Govts. and leadership of either Congress or Akali which have directed and misused the police against Sikhs only. Over the years the same police has never shown their brutality or firing against non-Sikh protestors. Over the years there have been many protest rallies by non-Sikhs such as Dera Chief followers, BJP & RSS activists etc. In those protests rallies often attacked and burn properties etc. but there was never any police firings in which protestors got killed. But whenever there have been Sikh protest rally there have been innocent killings due to police brutality or firing. Doesn’t it proves that police acts only as directed by the ruling Govts. and leaderships. So police isn’t really bad but it is the ruling Congress and Akali leaderships who have misused police to attack and fire at Sikh protestors only. This is a very serious issue and must be investigated. And the guilty political leaderships and police should be punished.

Another thing is that over the years we have seen that all such conflicts about religious issues are always created and incited by political leaderships and right wing religious leaderships. They all enjoy the benefits of such problems while innocent citizens suffer property losses, injuries and deaths. People really need to wake up and smarten up and learn to control their religious and sentimental feelings to fail efforts of right wing and political leaderships to incite communal tensions and violence. Don’t let the dirty political leaderships to succeed in their agendas.

People should make every effort to stay calm. Raise voice against disrespect to religious values and demand Justice. But never get violent and let dirty political leaderships and right wing Organisations enjoy benefits of such conflicts.
