Punjabi Press Club Rises From The Ashes With Scholar-Writer Gian Singh Kotli As President

The executive of the Punjabi Press Club, which Hargopal Singh Randhawa, Kuljeet Kaur, Gurlal Singh, Harkirat Singh Kular, Gursev Singh Pandher and Kuldip Singh Malhi in various positions, has been elected for two years.

SURREY – The Punjabi Press Club has risen from the ashes after a tumultuous two years in existence that saw it not really become what it was intended for.

But at a recent general meeting of the Punjabi Press Club of British Columbia held on March 5 at Newton Library, Surrey, the 7 member executive of the Punjabi Press Club was elected unanimously for two years and Gian Singh Kotli, a widely known poet/writer and a community activis,t was elected unanimously as its President by the executive.

Kuljeet Kaur Radio/TV host was elected Vice-President, Gurlal Singh Editor Punjabi Tribune, General Secretary; Hargopal Singh Randhawa Editor Vancouver Punjabi Times, Assistant Secretary; Harkirat Singh Kular Editor Punjab Guardian, Cashier, Gursev Singh Pandher Reporter Charhdikala, Assistant Cashier; and Kuldip Singh Malhi Editor Phulwari, Spokesman.

The credit goes to all the past executive committee members and all other members to agree to do away with the election and elect the new executive unanimously for the next two years.

Prominent journalists Sukhminder Singh Cheema, Prof: Gurvinder Singh Dhaliwal, Jarnail Singh Artist, Santokh Singh Mander, Gurpreet Singh Sahota, Major Singh Randhawa, Amarpal Singh and Palwinder Singh Gill expressed their satisfaction at the meeting proceedings and offered their full cooperation to President Kotli and his team members.

Kotli heartily thanked all for their good wishes and said, “This honor has been bestowed on me with a lot of love and respect. But I think we all are equal. We should work together for the betterment of Punjabi Press Club and the well being of all.”
