RICHMOND – Richmond RCMP Organized Crime Unit (OCU) says they have put a significant dent in Richmond’s illegal drug business by capturing two big time drug dealers.

In December 2012, the OCU initiated a focused investigation of a group who were believed to be selling heroin and cocaine in Richmond.

Through the use of sophisticated investigative techniques, police quickly identified three key players in Anees Mohammed, Imran Khan, and Aimal Ameeri, who have all been arrested and charged. Polcie said charges have also been laid against 4 other individuals.

As a result of this investigation, the OCU executed search warrants at 3 locations in Richmond. The warrants were executed in the 8000 block of Citation drive, 5000 Block of Alderbridge way, and the 2000 block of Mckessock Avenue.

The warrants resulted in the seizure of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine packaged for street sale, along with bulk amounts of heroin, cutting agents, and ecstasy tablets.  Several thousand dollars of Canadian and UC currency were also recovered.  One of the vehicles used by one of the accused to traffic drugs was seized as offence related property.

The organized crime unit believes these arrests and seizures have dismantled the drug line and has made a significant impact on the public safety to the citizens of Richmond.

At this time there is an arrest warrant for Soheibe Ghrebi, 22 years old of Richmond for 1 count of trafficking a controlled substance related to this investigation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ghrebi is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 604-669-TIPS or the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212.
