Smriti Irani, who ruled the heartsof television viewers for a long timeas Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi KabhiBahu Thi, is back on TV as a host fora crime show.The actor-politician says she willbe making a full-fledged comeback onTV soon.Prod her about any projects linedup but all she says is: “By New Year,things should materialise.“Her contemporaries SakshiTanwar, Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoorare playing key roles in teleserials. “Itfeels great to see them back on TV.It just shows that stars come andgo, but actors always stay.It’s the talent which always sustainsand good actors never go out ofstyle and out of work.
None of us had earth-shatteringgood looks, but we still managed tocreate history on screen with our individualpersonalities,” she says.The actor has been busy with herpolitical commitments and has alsoworked in regional films.
“I did a Telugu film Jai BoloTelangana and also worked in aBengali film Amrita.My mom is Bengali, so the languagewas close to my heart and it wasa great experience working with veteranactor Victor Banerjee,” she adds.When she was part of KyunkiSaas…, there had been reports of afallout between her and producerEkta Kapoor.
But they seem to have resolvedtheir differences.”Ekta and I are in constant touchand I feel she has an eye for perfectcasting.If she comes up with a role whichsuits my image, she will definitely giveme a call and I would love to workwith her again,” says Smriti.
