Join Surrey Libraries in celebrating Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights at the Fleetwood Community Centre (15996-84th Ave) on Saturday, Oct. 18th

PR Cards And Citizenship Sponsoring!

Richmond Public Library and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. are partnering to offer a free program called “PR Cards & Citizenship Sponsoring” on Thursday, November 6th from 1 – 2:30 pm at Cambie Branch library, located at 11590 Cambie Rd. Settlement practitioner Gurpreet Faridkot will give tips on how to renew permanent resident status as well as rules and regulations for sponsoring new immigrants to Canada.

Advanced English Conversation and Accent Reduction Classes

Naad Festival

Naad Foundation is proudly presenting a 2day “Naad Festival” of Poetry, Music, Dance & Film on October 11, & 12.Naad Foundation is an organization of musicians and music lovers who dedicate their time and efforts to spread peace and harmony through art and music in the Lower Mainland. We are an intercultural and dynamic society, which strongly feels that “Music is a Universal language, felt and understood by every soul on this planet”. Diwali Celebrations

On Saturday, October 18, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Muriel Arnason Library and the Township of Langley are celebrating their 11th annual Diwali (Festival of Lights).

Diwali, which means “a row of lights”, is the most widely celebrated Indian festival, and marks the victory of good over evil and the beginning of the New Year in India.

Everyone is cordially invited to experience diversity of culture through crafts, face painting, Mehndi, Indian music, sari wrapping demonstrations, and delicious refreshments. Also learn a few basic steps of Punjabi folk dance Bhangra from a professional dance instructor.

All Diwali activities are drop-in, free and open to the public.
