TORONTO – A South Asian man accused of sexually assaulting a woman while posing as a Bell employee has been arrested by police.
Ibrahim Khalil, 44, of Toronto was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with sexual assault, reported Toronto Star newspaper.
A man is said to have knocked on the door of a 22-year-old woman’s apartment, located near Woodbine Gardens. He wore a blue jacket with “Bell” written in white, with a lanyard and identification card around his neck.
Police say the victim invited him inside to talk about service plans and he then sexually assaulted her.
TPS was able to find and arrest Khalil with the help of security camera footage.
Khalil made his first court appearance in Old City hall on Sunday.
