SURREY – It is that time of the year when it’s time for Tka’s Eternal Life Ball Hockey Tournament.
The Tournament will take place at Unwin Park in Surrey, British Columbia over the course of two days, the 13th and 14th of August. Come out to cheer your favourite team in the tournament or enjoy a variety of foods and activities.
Tka’s Eternal Life Society is an annual fundraising event that began in 2014 founded by Manpreet Dhillon after the devastation from the sudden loss of her close brother, Taranveer Dhillon. As a compassionate and open-hearted individual, Manpreet knew it was her duty to carry on her brother’s passion as both a sports enthusiast and a charitable man. Tka will always be remembered for his greatest passion of supporting individuals in being the best that they can be.
This inaugural tournament is a community engaged event that focuses on igniting the movement for empowerment of men through sports and workshops. A study found that a shocking 53% of men feel uncertain about their appearance once a week or more. 25 years ago, 15% of men were unhappy with their body image, today, that number has tripled to 45%.
Funds donated will be used to empower, encourage and guide men into a healthy and happy life. The chosen organizations present on the days of the tournaments will be chosen to be in a draw. All funds raised will be donated to the chosen reputable organization on the second day of the tournament. We hope to reach our goal of raising over $15,000!
The co-ed tournament is an adult tournament. Prizes are up for grabs for winning teams. Registration is open until July 31st, 2015. Details are available at www.tkaseternallife.org.
