SUVA – He believes in one way, one life and one dream, which is to be a world champion one day. Pradeep “the Indian Warrior” Singh spoke like a warrior, someone determined to make it big in the boxing ring.

The Haryana-born 24-year-old, who arrived in Fiji on Wednesday for his upcoming 10×3 middleweight bout against Yao Yi Ma, has been handpicked by local promoter Abdul Feroz to fight under his banner.

Feroz, who has brought some top fights to Fiji, is ready to help Singh achieve his dream.

Singh, who first came to Fiji in July to watch Joy Ali versus Yao Yi Ma fight, admits he instantly fell in love with the country.

“I was in India when I received a call from promoter Feroz and he asked me if I can fight for him,” the Melbourne-based boxer said.

“I told my dad about it (the proposal) and he was very impressed and excited. He told me there is almost 43 per cent of Indians living there (Fiji).

“I stayed with Feroz and his family when I was in Fiji and they are very nice people. Fiji is like my second home.”

During his teen days, Singh used to wrestle – the sport he learnt from his father.
