MUMBAI – Karan Johar’s a competitive director when it comes to his films but his upcoming release, ‘Bombay Talkies’, seems to have changed that a tad bit for KJo.

Karan’s 20 minute short film deals with scattered relationships and promises to be a mini version of his large scale drama. “It’s a specific kind of viewing yet we want as many people to come and see this film. We want audiences to come in big numbers to. Bombay Talkies will showcase the dreams of four film makers on the big screen”, says Karan.

Working with other directors on this joint venture can be a matter of concern but Karan puts aside that ambition for the pure passion of cinema. “During the making of this film, I was obsessed by what the others were doing. I wanted to know how many days they shot, what their films were about. I’m very competitive by nature and we all want to be better than the other. But when four of us got together at Zoya’s place and we saw the films, there was nothing but love at the end of it eventually that emotion of cinema and passion over rides that sense of ambition and competition and that’s what happened to me. I’m sure the same happened to the other three too”, adds Karan.
