SURREY = Highly enlightening WorldInterfaith Harmony Week event will beorganized from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm onFebruary 1, 2014 at City Centre Library,10350 University Drive, Surrey.Speakers from different faiths will speakon love, harmony and well being of theentire human race. The program alsoincludes music, dances, prayer, chants, etcThe event is being organized by PICS(Progressive Intercultural CommunityServices Society) and with the active par- ticipation of Global Clergy Association of Canada and Surrey Interfaith Council.The event is funded by EmbraceBC, aprovincial program that supports multiculturalinitiatives. The purpose of thisevent is to showcase the range of religious,spiritual and philosophical communitiesin Surrey and to create a safespace for dialogue, sharing and learning.The World Interfaith Harmony Weekwas unanimously adopted by the UN onOctober 20, 2010. Since then the firstweek of February is observed as a WorldInterfaith Harmony Week. The HarmonyWeek provides a platform for all interfaithgroups and other groups of goodwillto show the world what a powerfulmovement they are.Preparatory touches were given to theprogram at the meeting held at PICS onJanuary 15, which was attended by severalfaith leaders. It is to be appreciated thatthree Contributing Writers from TheLink Newspaper, Acharya SrinathDwevedi, Dr. Jogessar Das and GianSingh Kotli will be speaking on the occasion.This event is only a step forward onthe long way of creating awareness aboutharmony and interfaith relationships inour community.All are welcome.
