AMRITSAR – Taking a serious note of a ‘bir’ of Guru Granth Sahib being printed in China, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh today advocated strict action against those involved in the act. He also made it clear that only the SGPC had been given the rights to publish the holy book.

The Jathedar, in a statement released here, said, “I would appeal to the Sikh Sangat to trace the individuals who are resorting to such intolerable acts. Akal Takht has already issued directions that no other organisation except the SGPC can publish the holy book.”

He said if any person or organisation came to know of the people engaged in such activities, they should immediately inform either the SGPC or Akal Takht. He said the SGPC should get to the bottom of the matter and make all efforts to stop this sacrilege so that nobody could dare to do so in the future.
