AMRITSAR – Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has issued a piece of advice to the Sikh community to commemorate the Gurgaddi Diwas of Sri Guru Har Rai on March 14 as the Sikh Environment Day.
Jathedar stated that the day should be celebrated not only by planting saplings, but by making the surroundings neat and tidy.
Guru Har Rai was a nature lover and he instilled a vision among his followers to care for and to live in harmony with nature and other living beings. He said the youth’s energy need to be channelised in a positive direction to deviate their mind from social vices, especially drug abuse.
