Charan Gill’s Letter On Kenney Not For Public Eyes

Dear Editor:

The recent Letter to the Editor on page a8 regarding Jason Kenney was never meant to be published. The letter was actually not a letter to the editor, meant for the general public, but was mistakenly construed as one. I sent it to poke fun at the humor in the original letter, and definitely did not intend for it to be understood as a formal communication to the community from myself as a representative of PICS Society.

I personally met with Minister Kenney and discussed immigration issues that have been brought forth to PICS. The Minister listened and was open to feedback, and I left this meeting confident that his Ministry is doing everything they can. Mr. Kenney was open-minded and available to change things if we found any gaps in the current policy. His openness to listen and receive feedback has convinced me that he is very aware of what the community’s needs are and is doing everything in his power to ensure that the needs of Canadians are met.

I would like to formally retract the letter that was printed, and establish that I do not think that Minister Kenney hates grandparents at all. As promised by Mr. Kenney in our meeting, we are bringing any difficulties and barriers to his attention. He is very open to working with us and resolving any issues. I look forward to working with him in the future.
