Famous US President Fighting Zombies Is Laughable And Absurd!

By ALAN SAMUEL

Blood suckers of the world – rejoice!  Out to join the forces of the living dead and bring them to heal is a famed American President in the enterprising Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.  Someone at 20th Century Fox must be doing something right as this flamouyant film rocks from start to finish.  Fit for history buffs, vampire lovers and the public at large, this crowd pleasing effort is drawing folks in to the Empire Studio 12, Colossus and Cineplex Odeon auditoriums around B.C.

Insighful and entertaining we learn what makes a man and forms the foundations of a president in this rousing thriller that combines state of the art special effects, 3-D effects that actually work for a change and historical truths.  Well, maybe the filmmakers here have taken a few liberties when it comes to actual facts.

After a brief stint sketching out Abe as a young boy we learn first hand the events that moulded him into the presidency.  Cast as Abe in an unforgettable performance is relatively new face Benjamin Walker  Besides taking a stand against slavery our Abe has a passion for fighting vampires.  This sets the stage for all sorts of micheif and death defying encounters as this human meets up with scores of flesh eating vampires.  Myths galore abound in this rousing 106 minute flick with great over the top comic-life performances by a  host of top actors.

Evil just pores out of every pore of the body of one cool cat called Adam.  Never better in the slimy department is Rufus Sewell who ices the part of a rich planation owner with pure evil on his mind.  Lots of family life and actual events in American history are well depicted here with a touch of blood sucking vermin interspersed throughout.

Never a dull moment takes place in the creative carnage that director Timur Bekmambetov in a classy telling of a truly imaginative look into the dark side of American history by way of writer/screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith.  Lots of action engulfs this knock out story that is fresh, funny and insanely engaging from start to finish.  See this movie whether you like horror, history or non-stop unconventional thrills.
