WASHINGTON – An eminent Indian-American doctor has gifted $ 2 million toa U.S. university for establishing a chair tosupport an advanced cardiac imagingprogramme.With the $ 2 million gift fromVijay Sanghvi, MD, the ‘DrsVijay and Khushman SanghviEndowed Chair in CardiacImaging’ or the SanghviChair, has been created tosupport a faculty member atthe University Of CincinnatiCollege Of Medicine in thecity of Cincinnati.Dr Sanghvi is the firstAmerican of Indian origin toendow a chair position at the Universityof Cincinnati, a media release said.The Sanghvi Chair will be given to a facultymember within the division of cardiovascularhealth and diseaseto help enhance educationalefforts related tothe UC cardiology fellowshipprogramme, his or herown clinical and researchefforts, in particular byadopting the mostadvanced imaging technologies,and efforts insupervising two imaginglabs within the UC Healthsystem.
