International South Asian Film Festival in Surrey Rebranded from VISAFF to iSAFF

VISAFF (Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival) has been rebranded to iSAFF Canada (International South Asian Film Festival Canada) to reflect the festival’s growth and expansion in recent years.

“I think that the VISAFF’s rebranding to iSAFF reflects how far we have come since the beginning and where we are headed. The community at large has been at the heart of this festival and we are very excited to share this exciting news with them,” says Festival Producer, Mannu Sandhu.

“I hope with the new brand we are able to take the festival to a new level internationally by showcasing more talent and creating opportunities to connect, learn and grow,” says Mannu.

“The Surrey Board of Trade, as a promotional partner, hopes to ensure that iSAFF puts Surrey on the map for the global film industry as a go-to international film festival,” said Anita Huberman, President & CEO, Surrey Board of Trade. “iSAFF will instigate economic opportunities and business partnerships.”

VISAFF began in 2008 to “bridge the gap” between South Asian talent and mainstream audiences by connecting directors, actors, producers, community organizations, and corporate brands. Year after year, VISAFF brought hundreds of amazing films made by both local as well as international filmmakers, which have not only been showcased at the festival but have also earned accolades worldwide. VISAFF provided a great platform for young filmmakers to showcase their talent and meet several decision-makers from the film fraternity at the festival.

VISAFF has contributed immensely to the celebration of diversity and has been a strong champion for inclusion. This has not only helped in the rebranding to iSAFF but also helped with the creation of a vibrant international network of artists, art lovers, and arts and culture thought leaders.

The rebranding will include a redesigned logo as well as a newly designed website which is to be launched soon.
