Do These Items Belong To You – If Yes Contact Police!

VANCOUVER  – Investigators with the Vancouver Police are sharing photographs of some distinctive jewellery in hopes of finding victims to crime who may hold important information.

The LINK reported earlier that many thieves posing as sympathetic bystanders were robbing immigrant seniors, including many Indo-Canadians, with what police called distraction thefts like removing the chain from their necks as they talked to them or hugged them.

The stolen items were seized by police from individuals believed to be actively involved in distraction robberies. By locating the owners and returning the jewellery, police are anticipating these crimes can be solved and charges recommended against the suspects who were found in possession of these items.

Police believe the items were stolen in unreported distraction robberies and thefts that occurred between November 21st and December 1st, 2014.

Anyone who recognizes any of the jewellery is asked to contact the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section at (604) 717-2541.
