SURREY – Police released images of a man who allegedly stabbed and robbed a Surrey taxi driver last month. Surrey RCMP is now looking for the public’s help identifying him.

The alleged attack happened early in the morning on June 21 after a Surrey Metro Taxi driver picked up a lone man near 108th Avenue and 144th Street.

When they got to their destination on the 13300 block of 105A Avenue, the passenger allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the driver’s arm and hand before taking off with his wallet, cash and cell phone.

The suspect was last seen running away down 105A Avenue. Police tried to track him with dogs, but didn’t find him.

Investigators are hoping the release of images will help identify the suspect, who is described as a slender, dark complexioned male, wearing black pants and a black hoodie with the hood up.

The driver, a Surrey man in his 50s, recovered from his injuries.

Surrey RCMP are asking anyone with information to call them at 604-599-0502 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
