Dare Devils come in all shapes and sizes. Trendsetting filmmaker Robert Zemeckis does justice to the ultimate thrill seeker in The Walk. Presented by Sony Pictures this savvy treat charts the life of a true life French aerial artist and is now unfolding at select Cineplex Odeon cites around B.C.

Most of us know The World Trade Centre towers from the unfortunate attack by radical extremists on 9/11. Prior to this fateful day on a much happier note the twin towers came into prominence when a risk taking man decided to cross the towers on a wire. Yes wire.

Inspiring throughout The Walk looks at the preparation for the and the  execution of the ultimate high wire act. You have to see to believe the bravery of slim in stature but brave in heart Philippe Petit. There is nothing at all “petite” in this man’s motivation and American actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt surpasses all expectations as the born adventurer. With a pleasing manner Gordon-Levitt is totally at ease when he acts almost as a narrator charting the way he master-minded this unbelievable quest.

Tension abounds in this brilliant re-enactment of a one of a kind moment in history. Fun and exciting throughout under the watchful hands of master director Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future) Simply put The Walk rocks. Given a strong supporting cast further bolstered by Sir Ben Kingsley (Gandhi) as a Yoda like sage to this young upstart  you really get into the passion this lone French man  with a dream has and how he somehow pulled it off against all odds. The rest, as they say, is history.

Made in 3-D The Walk shows the importance of teamwork, passion and following your dreams. Just like Hollywood!
